Delete your Pidge account
The Pidge app · operated by Thomas Thomson · Last updated October 2026
In the app
This is the fastest way, and it takes effect immediately.
- Open Pidge and sign in.
- Go to Settings (the gear icon).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm by tapping Delete my account.
Your photos are removed first, and the account is only deleted once they are gone. If your connection drops part-way through, nothing is deleted and you can try again -- we will not delete the account while your photos are still stored, because after the account goes there is no longer anyone with permission to remove them.
If you no longer have the app
Email admin@pidgeapp.com from the Cambridge address you signed up with, with the subject Delete my account. We will delete it and confirm by reply. Please allow up to 30 days, though in practice it is much faster.
We ask you to write from the address on the account because it is the only thing that shows the request is yours. If you cannot use that address any more, say so and we will find another way to check.
What is deleted
All of the following is permanently deleted, immediately and for good:
- Your account and sign-in credentials
- Your profile -- name, date of birth, college, gender, what you wrote about yourself, and your preferences for Dating and Formals
- Your photos, both the images themselves and their records
- Your matches and every message in them
- Your dietary requirements
- Your formal offers, your requests to join other people’s formals, and every formal chat, details card and booking you were part of -- as host or guest. A formal chat belongs to both people in it, so it is deleted for the other person too, along with any dietary requirements sent in it
- Who you pidged, who pidged you, and who was shown to you
- Anyone you blocked, and any record of you being blocked
- Your identity verification records
- Your notification tokens and the record of what you agreed to
- Your subscription records held by us
There is no recovery period and no way to restore an account once it is deleted.
What is kept, and for how long
Two things outlive the account, and both are there so that deleting an account cannot be used to erase a safety record.
- Safety reports. If you reported someone, or someone reported you, that report is kept with your identifier removed from it. We keep these for as long as we need them to keep Pidge safe.
- Material under a legal hold. Where a court order, a police preservation notice, or a report we have made to the National Crime Agency requires it, the relevant material is preserved for as long as the law requires -- a year in the case of an NCA report. This applies only to accounts subject to such a hold. Where the law prevents us from telling you, we may be unable to say that it has happened.
Beyond those, nothing is retained. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
Your subscription is separate
Deleting your account does not cancel a Pidge Gold subscription -- only Apple and Google can do that, because only they can take the payment. Cancel it in the App Store or Google Play before you delete your account, or it will keep renewing. There is a shortcut to the right screen in Pidge under Settings → Manage subscription.
